French Breakfast Puffs

A good breakfast is the best way to start a day with. In my opinion it also should be easy and quick to make. These puffs are perfect for such breakfast so enjoy!

For a batter:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 + 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 + 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • pinch salt
  • egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter

For a cinnamon coat:

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter


  1. Heat your oven to 175*C. In a bowl combine dry ingredients – flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt. In another bowl mix the rest of ingredients – egg, milk and melted butter.
  2. Combine everything together and mix just so it incorporates.
  3. Grease a muffin form and fill 2/3 of each hole with a batter.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes.
  5. When puffs are ready, let it cool a bit and then cover tops first with melted butter and then with a mix of sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Enjoy with fresh fruits or by themselves!
